Chhavi was born in a Kachwah Rajput family in Jaipur. She went to Mayo Girls College, Rajasthan for her schooling and graduated from the top notch Lady Sri Ram College, Delhi. She pursued MBA in Pune.After completing her MBA, she worked for huge names like TOI and Carlson but it was soon that she realized that she wanted to bring a change, a real change. She quit her lucrative corporate job which paid her several lakhs and went back to her village 'Sodha' in Tonk district, Rajasthan which is about 60 KMS from Jaipur.She contested 'Gram Pradhan' elections and won. She became India's first woman 'Sarpanch' with an MBA degree.Her grandfather, Brigadier Raghubir Singh has also been the Sarpanch of Sodha.Chhavi has brought about the construction of over 42 roads, ensured regular supply of clean drinking water, solar panels to provide electricity have been installed as analternate source of power, city-like paved road have been constructed, got a bank in the village, brought about construction of more than 820 toilets in the village with 900 houses!When refused funding by the Govt. (She already exhausted all the funds granted to the Sarpanch for the welfare of the village), she herself raised funds. Various organizations, NGO's came to her aid.She was invited to address delegates at the "11th InfoPoverty World Conference" held at the United Nations!She has been honoured with the President's award and IBN's 'Young India Leader' award.Chaavi proudly sports jeans, aviators, rides horses, open jeeps, even tractors!She has a vision for rural upliftment and has come a long way. She has made our comunity & our country proud.
